SLB worked with a large-scale field development company developing the Ivar Aasen field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The customer needed to bring the field onstream on schedule while operating the best-performing rig on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and meeting demanding drilling and development milestones.

SLB implemented an integrated development plan that brought drilling, reservoir characterization, and completions teams together in a “One Team” approach, with key personnel embedded in the customer’s office and offshore operations. The collaboration helped the project achieve or exceed all predrilling milestones, double the planned number of wells within the timeframe, and remain on schedule for first oil before year-end 2016, while also setting multiple performance records for drilling efficiency and completions on the NCS.
