Case Study: a national oil company achieves reliable local oilfield support with SLB's Cameron services

A SLB Case Study

Preview of the National Oil Company Case Study

Crisscrossing the Globe to Offer Operating Convenience and Expertise to Middle East Countries

SLB worked with National Oil Company to improve local support for oil and gas operations across the Middle East, where operators faced logistics challenges, skill shortages, regulatory uncertainty, and the need for reliable in-country service. The case study centers on surface wellheads, Christmas trees, BOPs, drilling systems, and aftermarket support for ongoing field operations in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.

SLB’s Cameron business established and expanded local facilities in North Rumaila, Al-Khobar, and Muscat to provide equipment installation, inspection, recertification, manufacturing, spare parts, training, and 24/7 field and shop support. The result was faster response times, lower costs, stronger local content, and greater equipment availability and reliability, with measurable impact including more than 1,000 wellheads installed in Iraq, 137 customers and contractors trained on MBS equipment, and only one recordable incident at the North Rumaila facility.
