A SLB Case Study
The University of Pittsburgh’s phase behavior research group needed a reliable way to perform a wide range of routine and complex high-pressure, high-temperature PVT and viscometry studies without relying on multiple specialized systems. SLB provided an adaptable, all-in-one Schlumberger PVT system with full cell visibility to support research across many fluid types and phase behavior conditions.
Using the single modular PVT system, SLB enabled the university to conduct studies such as bubblepoint, dewpoint, multiphase equilibrium, and observations of up to four fluid phases, while also supporting a modified falling-object viscometer setup. The result was a more efficient laboratory workflow, reduced need for multiple systems and associated maintenance, and accurate data that supported numerous publications and expanded research into EOR and complex fluid behavior.
