SLB worked with Agiba Petroleum to improve efficiency and data accuracy in a development well in the Western Desert of Egypt drilled with water-base mud and high overbalance. The company needed a better way to identify depleted zones while avoiding the time and complexity of separate logging and pressure-testing runs.

SLB deployed the PlatformExpress integrated logging platform and PressureXpress reservoir pressure while logging service in a single toolstring to collect petrophysical and pressure data in one run. The approach reduced operating time to 14 hours, nearly 40% less than separate runs, eliminated the need for a wiper trip, and delivered 25 pretests that confirmed depleted zones while also discovering a new reservoir at original pressure.
