BroadBand Services’ Composite Fracturing Fluid Enables 64% Increase in Oil Production

SLB worked with Leading Oil Production Company to improve well productivity in the Bone Spring Formation of the Permian Basin. The company needed to maximize proppant placement along the lateral while reducing guar polymer use and avoiding the poor fracture coverage it had seen with slickwater fracturing.

SLB used BroadBand Services’ composite fracturing fluid, combining slickwater and thin linear gel with asymmetric pulses to improve proppant transport and fracture coverage. The well was completed without operational issues and delivered the best performance versus offset wells, achieving a 64% increase in oil production compared with the highest-producing offset well.
