SLB worked with an offshore oil well production company that had lost a wireline toolstring in a horizontal offshore well during reverse deployment, forcing production to stop and complicating the logging schedule. The challenge was to locate and retrieve the low-weight fish in a complex well where surface measurements were not reliable.

SLB used its ACTive TC live coiled tubing tension and compression tool to monitor subtle downhole weight changes and clearly identify tagging, latching, and retrieval events. The tool enabled the team to confirm the fish was being pulled out, retrieve 45 ft of production logging toolstring in 36 hours, and resume production without issue.
