ACTive Services Improve Oil Production by 26% and Water Injection by 50%

SLB worked with an oil production company in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea to improve oil output from a mature field. The company’s water injector well could not deliver enough injection rate at the required depth, with upper zones taking most of the fluid and sand and debris limiting injectivity in the lower zones.

SLB used Jet Blaster engineered high-pressure jetting on coiled tubing, the ACTive Xtreme real-time downhole measurement tool, and the ACTive OptiFIRE selective perforating system to clean sleeves, close upper zones, remove debris, and add new toe perforations. The operation increased water injection rate by 50%, boosted oil production in neighboring wells by 26%, saved about 100 hours versus conventional CT perforating, and avoided an expensive sidetrack.
