Case Study: PEMEX achieves faster reperforation and eliminated deferred production with SLB ACTive OptiFIRE

ACTive OptiFIRE System Reperforates Critical Producing Interval in 11 Hours

PEMEX needed to reperforate a critical producing interval that could not be reached with wireline, while also avoiding killing the well or pumping damaging fluid into the formation. SLB proposed using the ACTive OptiFIRE CT real-time selective activation system to access the zone and place the perforating guns accurately in a single run.

SLB deployed the ACTive OptiFIRE system to selectively activate the perforating guns downhole and confirm detonation in real time with fiber-optic data. The well was reperforated in 11 hours, detonation time was cut by 75%, and PEMEX avoided deferred production and formation damage; the same CT unit was then used to clean and kick off the well, and PEMEX later applied the system on three more wells.
