ACTive OptiFIRE System Perforates Three Intervals, Increases Well Production 18% in Brownfield Well

PEMEX faced declining flow rates in a mature brownfield in Latin America and needed to perforate two new intervals and reperforate a critical producing zone in an underbalanced live-well environment without deferring production. SLB addressed the challenge using the ACTive OptiFIRE CT real-time selective activation system for coiled tubing perforating.

SLB deployed the ACTive OptiFIRE system to perforate all three intervals in one run while confirming downhole detonation in real time with fiber-optic data and surface/downdownhole measurements. The intervention increased well production by 18%, reduced perforating gun detonation time by 75%, lowered HSE risk by eliminating working fluid, and avoided deferred production and nonproductive time.
