Case Study: Lake County Health Department builds trust and expands equitable vaccine access with Slalom

Responding to a crisis, building trust for the future

Lake County Health Department needed help quickly preparing to administer COVID-19 vaccines to a diverse county population, including residents with language barriers, housing instability, technology challenges, and accessibility needs. Partnering with Slalom, the department faced the challenge of creating a trusted, inclusive solution almost overnight for a community of about 700,000 people.

Slalom assembled a 40+ person cross-functional team using Salesforce customer engagement, MuleSoft, organizational effectiveness, and experience design expertise to build a vaccine orchestration solution. The effort helped Lake County Health Department create a multilingual, accessible approach designed to reach underserved residents and strengthen community trust.
