Piedmont Healthcare’s Community Connect program faced a significant challenge with the financial reporting capabilities of its Epic EHR system. The existing solution only provided static reports, creating an IT bottleneck and limiting clinics' ability to access the custom data they needed to run their businesses. This inadequacy even became a barrier to attracting new customers. To address this, they partnered with Slalom to develop a more flexible solution.

Slalom created a custom, interactive Financial Overview Dashboard using Tableau, which integrated seamlessly with the Epic EHR. This solution empowered clinic users to filter and query their own financial data on-demand, eliminating the reliance on IT for report generation. The results were highly positive, with one clinic expecting a 40% increase in productivity. The project freed up Piedmont's internal IT team to focus on strategic initiatives and significantly improved customer satisfaction for Slalom.
