Beyond 12, a nonprofit dedicated to helping low-income and first-generation students graduate from college, faced the challenge of scaling its successful but costly high-touch coaching model to reach hundreds of thousands of students. They partnered with Slalom to develop a highly scalable digital tool that could automate key support functions and help more students navigate their higher education journey without error.

Slalom developed the MyCoach mobile app using Xamarin's cross-platform software, which consolidated critical information and provided students with personalized reminders and to-do lists. This solution automated transactional tasks, freeing coaches for more meaningful interactions and significantly reducing the cost per student. The app was a critical part of a new tiered service model that allowed Beyond 12 to expand its reach while maintaining its high success rates for student persistence in college.
