OOCL Chooses SL’s RTView™ to Help Ensure SLA Compliance for 2.5 Million Annual Shipments

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), a global container transportation and logistics company handling about 2.5 million shipments annually, relied on its IRIS-2 shipment lifecycle system but suffered from fragmented, team-specific monitoring methods. Disparate JSP pages, servlets and scripts across development centers made it hard for production teams in Hong Kong to get an end-to-end view, led to false alarms that could mobilize 1,700 customer-service staff unnecessarily, and increased the risk of SLA breaches and costly downtime.

OOCL implemented SL Corporation’s RTView APM as a centralized, single-pane-of-glass monitoring solution that integrated OC4J, .NET, TIBCO EMS/Hawk/BusinessWorks and custom applications. Deployed in just over four months, RTView provided business-process-aligned dashboards, drilldown to root cause, historian forecasting and targeted alerts—reducing mean time to diagnose from ~1 hour to 2 minutes and cutting daily monitoring effort from about 4 hours to 5 minutes, enabling proactive issue resolution and improved SLA compliance.
