The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages New York’s competitive electricity market and the state’s major transmission system, supplying large volumes of operational and market-pricing data via its OASIS website. NYISO faced a tight four-month deadline to replace raw, hard-to-read data with intuitive graphical displays so market participants and operators could quickly spot trends and act.
NYISO selected SL Corporation’s Enterprise RTView to rapidly build web-enabled dashboards—final graphics were completed in under two weeks after prototyping—and integrated it with existing XML, SQL and TIBCO systems with minimal training and strong vendor support. The result was a seamless, on-time rollout that made complex data comprehensible through maps, trend graphs, thresholds, alarms and drill-downs, improving user experience, faster response times and broad customer satisfaction.
