Numerica, a provider of industrial IoT solutions for the petroleum industry, faced the challenge of helping oil and gas producers manage remote, inaccessible well sites where reliable cellular connectivity was unavailable. This lack of connectivity made real-time monitoring and control difficult, requiring engineers to travel to sites for data and adjustments, which was costly and inefficient. To address this, Numerica partnered with SKYWAVE to integrate its dual-mode satellite-cellular services and hardware into Numerica's WellMonitor SCADA solution.

The solution from SKYWAVE provided reliable, global satellite connectivity, enabling engineers to remotely monitor well data and control pumps via a web browser or app. This allowed for immediate issue resolution and optimization of production. The measurable results for customer Hocol included preventing over five hours of deferred production per shutdown and identifying ten stoppages in three months. This led to incremental production of 365 barrels per day and extended the life of two well operations.
