BAP Intel, founded by Benjamin Pittet, began as a hobbyist project in geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). The challenge was to monitor Russian military movements on the Ukrainian border, which required access to high-resolution, recent satellite imagery on a very small budget to enable effective object detection.

SkyWatch addressed this challenge by providing its EXPLORE App and access to high-resolution imagery from its providers. This solution enabled BAP Intel to source the critical data it needed, transforming Pittet from an amateur into a professional analyst. The measurable impact was the successful monitoring of the border; furthermore, the project's success influenced other members of the OSINT community to begin using SkyWatch for their own high-quality work.
