Troy Community Consolidated School Dist. 30-C (enrollment 4,318) faced the challenge of modernizing its student information system while ensuring the new platform matched district workflows and increased staff engagement. A long-time partner since 2014, the district is transitioning from Skyward’s SMS 2.0 to Skyward’s Qmlativ Education Management Suite and sought to provide user-centered input despite limited time and a prior leadership transition.

Skyward engaged Troy CCSD 30-C through its UX team, a live Qmlativ test database, R&D sessions, and the Product Ideas Portal to collect hands-on feedback. That collaboration produced concrete improvements — enhanced attendance letters, applicant tracking, data mining, office visit tracking and refinements to Qmlativ’s discipline feature — and delivered a more intuitive, streamlined interface with customizable dashboards and live tiles that are already increasing staff adoption and shaping Skyward’s product roadmap.
