Skyward’s online enrollment increases accessibility for parents

Grand Prairie ISD, a Texas school district serving over 29,000 students across 41 campuses, needed to move historically paper-based, in-person new-student registration online to meet state eLearning mandates and pandemic restrictions. Because Skyward was already the district’s student information system, GPISD implemented Skyward’s New Student Online Enrollment (NSOE) to replace packet-based enrollment and enable remote registration for families.

Skyward’s NSOE was integrated into GPISD’s Skyward SMS 2.0 beginning in spring 2016 with focused staff training and parent outreach; the district now reports a 100% electronic new-student enrollment process, elimination of paper packets, fewer duplicate records through data verification, and the ability for parents to submit documents online during COVID-19. The result was measurable cost and time savings across 41 campuses, cleaner data, reduced in-person traffic, and improved parent convenience — outcomes GPISD attributes directly to Skyward.
