School District of La Crosse (enrollment 6,800) faced slow, error-prone paper-based payroll and business processes that increased the risk of calculation mistakes and fraud. To modernize operations, the district adopted Skyward’s School Business Suite and implemented two Skyward applications: Employee Access (self-service employee portal) and True Time (digital time clock).
Skyward’s True Time and Employee Access replaced paper timesheets with badge swipes and online access, streamlining payroll and reducing manual data-entry and math errors. The Skyward solution increased employee accountability, improved ACA and state reporting, freed HR/payroll staff to focus on higher‑value work, and cut phone inquiries and processing time—delivering faster, more accurate business operations for the district.
