Saginaw Township Community School District faced a burdensome manual process tracking attendance, payments and state reporting for its in-district childcare program serving 350+ children across six centers. District staff maintained paper ledgers and created charts by hand each week, and existing childcare software lacked the flexibility and integration they needed with the Skyward School Management System the district had used for over a decade. Skyward was identified as a potential vendor that could address both integration and customization needs.

Skyward implemented its Fee Management solution (integrated with Family Access and the district’s School Management System) and added a customized comment box to capture attendance, enabling directors to handle payments and attendance in one system. Using Skyward plus Crystal Reports, directors now run deposit and tax reports instantly—what once took hours per director to prepare can be generated in about five minutes—streamlining DHS reimbursement reporting and daily check totals and freeing staff to focus more time on students.
