Ridgewood Public Schools saves 1 step in course selection with Skyward

Ridgewood Public Schools, a high-performing district in New Jersey, faced a challenge with its archaic student management system. Parents and staff lacked on-demand access to student information and the ability to easily correlate performance data. Superintendent Daniel Fishbein sought a modern, web-based solution to improve assessment and analysis, a need amplified when the district learned its main system would soon be unsupported.

The district implemented Skyward's Student Management Suite, funded entirely by stimulus money. The solution provided an integrated system that delivered significant results, including increased productivity by streamlining processes like course selection and report generation. It improved communication between teachers and parents through the Gradebook and Family Access portals and gave students more responsibility for their academics. Skyward's implementation provided Ridgewood with ongoing updates and the tools to operate more efficiently despite a dramatic loss of state funding.
