Murfreesboro City Schools - Customer Case Study

Murfreesboro City Schools (MCS), a Tennessee district of 8,837 students, faced decades of disjointed, paper‑based processes—multiple paper forms, duplicate data entry across separate finance and HR portals, and overwhelmed clerical and HR staff and parents during registration and onboarding. To centralize information and move to a paperless environment, MCS implemented Skyward’s School Management System and related online tools.

Skyward converted paper forms to online Custom Forms via Family Access and introduced Task Manager workflows for HR and business processes, centralizing data and automating tasks. As a result, staff saved hours of data entry, registration and attendance monitoring became more accurate, parent communication improved, and human resources efficiency rose by at least 50%; staff morale and ownership of processes also increased. Skyward’s solutions continue to expand at MCS as the district plans to implement Fast Track for hiring.
