MSD of Wayne Township (enrollment 15,750) was using a 12‑year‑old SIS that lacked modern communication tools and wasn’t mobile‑friendly, leaving many families—who often only had smartphones—without easy access to grades and school information. In 2015 the district moved to Skyward’s Student Management Suite and adopted Skyward’s mobile app to address those gaps and improve staff and parent engagement.

Skyward’s Family Access portal and mobile app were rolled out with a year of data cleanup and active promotion, and teachers adopted the tools quickly. The district gained real‑time grade updates, greater transparency, and markedly increased communication with students and parents; families can now view grades instantly via mobile devices, staff send fewer emails, and overall engagement across the district improved following Skyward’s implementation.
