A Skyward Case Study
Marion County School District, serving 43,000 students across 54 locations, faced significant lost instructional time from hundreds of daily tardies and a paper-based check-in process. The district partnered with Skyward and implemented a Skyward-integrated tardy kiosk solution (deployed by School Technology Associates) to streamline late-student check-ins and attendance tracking.
Students now self-check in at kiosks that print passes and record tardies directly into Skyward in real time, eliminating manual data entry and freeing staff for student-focused work. The district reports the kiosks save about three hours of manual documentation per typical school day, improve student accountability and on-time arrival, and give parents and teachers immediate visibility through Skyward’s Family Access—positioning Marion County to expand kiosk use for additional workflows.
