Hondo Independent School District speeds RTI support across 4 tiers with Skyward

Hondo Independent School District (ISD) faced challenges with its outdated, paper-based Response to Intervention (RTI) process. Student folders were difficult to access, often got lost, and created inefficiencies for teachers and administrators trying to support struggling learners. This system made it hard to track student progress and share information across grade levels. To solve this, the district turned to its existing vendor, Skyward, to implement its dedicated RtI tool.

By implementing Skyward's RtI tool, Hondo ISD created a permanent, accessible digital record for each student that follows them throughout their academic career. The solution allowed the district to efficiently customize the tool, even adding a new "tier zero" to comply with Texas House Bill 4545. The results were significant, with students progressing to the point of exiting the intervention program entirely.
