A Skyward Case Study

Garden City USD - Customer Case Study

Garden City USD, serving about 7,175 students in Garden City, Kansas, faced an outdated student information system that produced inconsistent data, cumbersome reporting and time-consuming grade transfers. With less than five months to replace the platform before the 2007–08 school year, the district evaluated vendors and selected Skyward’s Student Management Suite (and later its School Business Suite) after finding Skyward met nearly 100% of their requirements.

Skyward provided a rapid, tightly managed implementation with a dedicated project manager, onsite training and consulting; Garden City was fully operational on Skyward within three months and launched the business suite in January 2008. The solution centralized enrollment, streamlined grading and parent communication through Family Access, improved data integrity, and — according to district staff — enabled them to achieve in one year what had taken ten years with their previous systems, delivering clear time savings and operational improvements.
