Fort Bend ISD - Customer Case Study

Fort Bend ISD, a large Texas district serving about 72,473 students across 75 schools, struggled with a fragmented and paper-heavy new-student registration process that varied by campus. As a Skyward customer since 2010, the district piloted Skyward’s New Student Online Enrollment to address inconsistent forms, staff workload, and parent inconvenience.

Skyward’s solution—combined with a district committee to standardize registration, staff training in a test environment, onsite kiosks, and a June 1, 2014 soft launch—let parents complete enrollment online and auto-populate sibling and district forms. The result: more than 7,500 online registrations in the first three months and over 10,000 to date, improved data integrity (staff verify entries before finalizing), greater administrative efficiency, and progress toward a paperless, cost-saving model.
