A Skyward Case Study
Pekin Public School District 108 faced challenges keeping teachers, staff, parents and students informed about grades, schedules and class information; paper schedules and report cards created hallway congestion, costly postage and uncertainty whether parents actually received grade reports. To address this, the district implemented Skyward’s Family and Student Access to give families and students quick, online visibility into grades, attendance and teacher contacts.
Skyward’s Family and Student Access produced immediate improvements in communication and engagement: teachers now send regular grade updates, students proactively check their progress (one student reported using Student Access 1–3 times daily), and at least 50–60% of parents logged in at least once during the year—helping the district move toward paperless reporting, reduce printing/postage burdens, and increase parent–teacher interaction. Skyward’s solution earned strong endorsement from district staff and families and is being further adopted across the school.
