Dover Area School District - Customer Case Study

Dover Area School District (enrollment 3,516) had relied on the same student information system for more than 18 years and found its processes inefficient and outpaced by neighboring districts. Tasked with modernizing the district’s SIS, Brad Perkins led a search that culminated in selecting Skyward’s Student Management Suite in 2015 as a web-based, externally hosted solution to replace the legacy system.

Skyward implemented the Student Management Suite with hands-on project management, consulting, and training support, rolling out Family Access (so families can update contact info and view schedules), PDC professional development, and improved PIMS/state reporting tools like SkyDoc. As a result, Dover streamlined processes, shortened the learning curve for staff, enhanced parent–student–teacher communication, and gained a more intuitive, future-ready SIS supported by Skyward’s services.
