Deerfield Public School District 109 - Customer Case Study

Deerfield Public School District 109, led by then-superintendent Michael Lubelfeld, faced challenges engaging parents, students and the broader community in district decision-making. To strengthen communication and stakeholder input the district adopted technology tools including Skyward’s solutions—notably Skylert for electronic messaging and Skyward Family Access—to keep families connected to teachers, school news and administrative outreach.

Skyward’s Skylert and Family Access enabled targeted email, text and automated phone campaigns, two-way feedback and read-tracking, and were used to field surveys (achieving more than a 70% response rate) and recruit task-force input that led to new STEM and communications/media electives and a successful “Welcome to Sixth Grade” program. By leveraging Skyward, Deerfield improved transparency and engagement district-wide, increased parent and student involvement in decision-making, and sustained strong student achievement.
