Battle Creek Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Battle Creek Public Schools faced an inconsistent, hard-to-transfer intervention process that left struggling students without timely support. Much of the district’s intervention tracking was done in Google Sheets, making year-to-year data handoffs tedious and limiting early identification. To address this, the district turned to Skyward and its Response to Intervention (RtI) solution within the Skyward Student Management Suite.

Skyward’s RtI enabled Battle Creek Central High School to record, visualize, and share behavior, academic, and attendance interventions while pulling data from grading to create watch lists and guide actions. The system brought consistency and collaboration among teachers, interventionists, students, and parents, and helped reduce out-of-school suspensions by 20% from 2016–17 to 2017–18. BCPS is expanding RtI use for attendance interventions and plans to roll the model district-wide as their partnership with Skyward continues.
