A Skyward Case Study
Bad Axe Public Schools, an eastern Michigan district of about 1,013 students, faced delays in collecting and acting on student data, weak family connections, and inconsistent communication that hindered efforts to raise achievement and improve interpersonal relationships. To address these gaps they adopted Skyward’s Student Management Suite, using tools such as Attendance, Behavior Tracking, Gradebook, Message Center, Family Access and Custom Forms.
Skyward helped Bad Axe implement early‑warning criteria drawn from Attendance, Behavior Tracking and Gradebook so staff could identify at‑risk students and intervene in real time instead of weeks later. Skyward’s Message Center and Family Access strengthened school‑to‑home communication and parent engagement—improving student accountability, reducing reliance on in‑person conferences, and supporting interventions tied to a reported 41% reduction in dropout risk—resulting in quicker supports, stronger relationships, and higher student achievement.
