GE Healthcare Expands Global Reach and Raises Training Effectiveness after Leveraging Skytap Cloud

GE Healthcare, a medical technology provider serving customers in more than 100 countries, faced training limits: hands-on classes were costly, largely confined to the United States and Canada, and relied on view-only demos rather than realistic lab experience. The team also needed to cut in‑residence sessions, improve collaboration between dev/test and field teams, and avoid the time and expense of provisioning and shipping complex hardware.

By importing complete medical application suites into Skytap Cloud and delivering student labs via published URLs and remote virtual desktops, GE Healthcare enabled multi‑screen, interactive training anywhere in the world. The move expanded training into Europe and Africa, reduced in‑residence sessions, introduced instructor-led and self‑directed options, boosted hands‑on learning effectiveness, and eliminated hardware shipping and setup overhead while improving cross‑functional collaboration.
