CA Technologies’ education arm needed to scale hands-on software training for a global audience but was constrained by on-premises labs, slow multi‑VM setups, the pain of local Java/client installs, poor latency for remote students, and wasted reserved lab capacity when attendees didn’t show. Their goal was to enable self‑directed, low‑friction access to realistic enterprise labs on demand.

By integrating Skytap Cloud APIs into CA’s LMS and using Skytap’s HTML5 browser client and global datacenters, CA automated provisioning, teardown and suspension of lab environments closest to users.
