Leading Renewable Power Company, an owner and operator of a large renewable energy portfolio across North America and Western Europe, needed a better way to understand the relationship between lightning damage and lightning protection system (LPS) component failures. SkySpecs helped address the challenge by applying a data-driven LPS study to support more strategic blade repair planning and risk assessment.

SkySpecs assessed and correlated blade damage data with LPS test measurements to identify risk levels tied to blade damage occurrence and re-occurrence. The results enabled the customer to prioritize maintenance more effectively, avoid costly repairs and replacements, and better plan repairs based on risk.
