Toronto International Film Festival - Customer Case Study

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), one of the world’s largest film festivals, needed to train thousands of volunteers for its eleven-day event but relied on time-consuming in-person orientation sessions that consumed hundreds of hours and could only reach a few hundred people per session. TIFF also wanted to prevent trainees from skipping training videos and had no way to verify comprehension before deploying volunteers — so they turned to SkyPrep for an online training solution.

SkyPrep helped TIFF import course material, enroll users, lock video progression, and add automatically graded assessments, replacing three in-person sessions and enabling orientation to be completed in a single week. Using SkyPrep, TIFF delivered eight courses to support more than 1,500 volunteers (across 3,000+ staff/volunteer users), ensured learners couldn’t skip content, measured understanding with quizzes, saved substantial time, and received strong positive feedback — prompting TIFF to expand SkyPrep’s use across the organization.
