Oklahoma City Police Department deploys 4,700 drone flights in under three years with Skydio

The Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) serves a large area and faced challenges maintaining rapid response times and aerial intelligence during high-stakes incidents, especially when helicopters were unavailable. To address this, they partnered with Skydio to implement a drone-based solution.

OKCPD deployed Skydio X2 and later X10 drones in a patrol-led model, enabling officers to get aerial eyes on a scene instantly. The Skydio solution provided critical real-time intelligence, which was instrumental in locating a shooting suspect, safely managing a vehicle pursuit, and securing a large public event. The program has logged over 4,700 flights and 950 flight hours, significantly enhancing officer and community safety.
