Oklahoma City Police Department becomes first to run dock-based DFR at the Oklahoma State Fair with Skydio

The Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) sought to scale its drone program to improve public and officer safety. The department partnered with Skydio to implement a Drone as First Responder (DFR) program using autonomous drones, including the Skydio X10, and the Skydio Dock.

Skydio's solution enabled OKCPD to become the first agency to successfully run a dock-based DFR program, which was deployed at major events like the Oklahoma State Fair. The program provided critical overwatch for shooting incidents, burglaries, and large gatherings, enhancing situational awareness and response capabilities for the department.
