The New York Power Authority (NYPA) needed to inspect hazardous and hard-to-access infrastructure like dams and hydropower plants. Skydio implemented its AI-powered autonomous drones to allow NYPA to remotely capture detailed visual data. This solution meant risking a machine instead of a person, which significantly improved safety. The results were highly successful; the NYPA drone program now supports more than 100 operational use cases, enabling efficient and informed maintenance across its infrastructure.
