Western Union Rolls Out Skycure to Help Protect Mobile Devices

Western Union, a Fortune 500 leader in global payments, needed to strengthen its mobile security as it expanded employee mobility and digital services. The company wanted a solution to protect devices across multiple threat vectors (device compromise, malware, malicious networks, and OS/app vulnerabilities), integrate with its MDM, minimize impact on end users, provide intelligent alerting and automated mitigation, and help keep device software up to date.

Western Union rolled out Skycure’s cloud-based Mobile Threat Defense to employer-owned devices, pairing it with MobileIron MDM and using the Skycure console for monitoring. The deployment was simple (app-store installs), detected malware other tools missed, provided dashboard alerts and first-line support that reduced IT burden, and earned positive user feedback; Western Union plans to expand Skycure for compliance auditing and to employee-owned devices.
