Tri State Motor Transit - Customer Case Study

Tri State Motor Transit Co., a long-time hauler of highly sensitive and hazardous cargo for customers including the U.S. Department of Defense and Department of Energy, needed a tracking solution that could work reliably across its nationwide operations. The company was looking for a system that could handle placarded loads and dangerous freight while meeting strict defense requirements. SkyBitz, a satellite-based trailer tracking platform, fit those needs and was chosen over competing systems.

SkyBitz was implemented to track Tri State’s dry van trailers and individual dromedary containers, with HERO-approved technology that is compatible with Tri State’s Qualcomm in-cab system and Fleet Commander dispatch platform. The solution gives Tri State and its customers visibility into shipments while they are on Tri-State’s equipment, and SkyBitz is also supporting a pilot program for HERO approval on flatbed trailers. Tri State said SkyBitz engineers worked closely with them to adapt the system to their needs, helping enable better shipment tracking and operational flexibility across a fleet of 1,400 trailers.
