Lydall Transport Streamlines and Secures Fleet with SkyBitz Tracking Technology

Lydall Transport Ltd., a Glen Allen, Va.-based carrier with a strong on-time record, wanted an added safeguard for its trailers and customers’ cargo as it expanded into higher-value commodities. Although theft had not been a major issue, the company needed a trailer-tracking solution to improve security and gain better visibility across its fleet.

Lydall Transport chose SkyBitz Global Locating System (GLS) tracking technology, using SkyBitz Mobile Terminals, the InSight Web application, and SkyFencing to monitor trailer locations and manage counts more accurately. With SkyBitz, Lydall improved operational efficiency, turned trailers more quickly, and even avoided replacing about 25 retired trailers; the fleet was streamlined from about 180 trailers to 155 in six months.
