Deluxe, a 100+-year-old company that transformed from a direct-to-consumer check printer into a provider of marketing and business services, needed to hire for many new, skill-specific roles (e.g., UI designer, ecommerce director, SEM manager). In 2015 Deluxe implemented SkillSurvey Reference and Source, using more than 80 job-specific surveys to gather confidential, actionable reference feedback. They’ve requested references for 1,400+ candidates (avg. 3.5 requested/3.1 returned), with over 70% of references ready within 24 hours, and 500+ references opting into a private talent network (59% at manager level). The result: faster, better-informed hiring decisions, reduced time-to-fill, and a growing pipeline of qualified passive candidates.
