The John Lewis Partnership - Customer Case Study

The John Lewis Partnership, a major UK retail group that includes John Lewis department stores and Waitrose supermarkets and generates over £10bn in annual sales, faced a complex IT skills challenge: how to meet evolving technical needs while supporting career development for its
Partners — from graduate trainees and apprentices to analysts and managers — without losing focus on the people central to the business.

To address this, the Partnership adopted Skillsoft’s learning suite, using SkillChoice and Skillport® 8 to deliver targeted, role-aligned content (mapped to the SFIA framework) and industry reference materials. In the first 12 months this approach enabled about 3,200 individual learning events, aligned learning to IT skills and roles, and moved the organisation from a top-down curriculum to a flexible framework that guides Partner development.
