Odawa Casino Resort, a large gaming and hospitality complex owned by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, needed to expand employee development by making training available 24x7x365 and creating a blended learning career-enrichment program to strengthen leadership and succession.
Using Skillsoft’s Select package and the Skillport LMS, Odawa built a catalog of relevant courses tied to performance-review competencies and enabled employees to earn college credit through North Central Michigan College. The initiative produced more consistent leadership and improved organizational performance, enabled managers to address issues more quickly, increased the number of Native Americans prepared for executive roles, and launched two new process-improvement initiatives.
