Jersey Electricity PLC, the sole electricity supplier in Jersey serving around 50,000 customers, used recent HR restructuring as an opportunity to modernise its learning and development offering. While historically strong in technical training, the company needed to broaden into management development, soft skills, coaching and mentoring, and more self-paced learning options.
Jersey Electricity implemented Skillsoft’s Skillport LMS and used SkillStudio to create and launch content—including assigned training on new discrimination law—backed by marketing and manager communications. The change delivered a blended management development programme, reduced employee time away from roles, linked L&D to succession planning and skills-gap mapping, and helped foster a culture of continuous learning.
