A Skillsoft Case Study
HCL Technologies, founded in 1976, is a global IT services company with roughly 90,000 employees across 31 countries and annual revenue of about USD 6.4 billion. HCL’s Infrastructure Services Division faced a costly, complex reliance on instructor-led training (ILT) and needed to build a scalable, self-directed learning culture to support rapid growth and global development needs.
Working with Skillsoft, HCL mapped and customized Skillsoft curriculum on the Skillport LMS, deployed over 3,000 IT courseware licenses for new and existing hires, and combined digital content with targeted classroom training for a blended approach. The program drove heavy engagement—184,000+ learning programs accessed (8,000+ completions) and 195,000+ courses accessed (42,000+ completions)—and cut ILT duration by about 15–20%.
