BG Group, an international oil exploration, production and LNG company operating in 20+ countries with around 5,000 employees, wanted to increase uptake of its extensive Skillsoft library (7,000+ courses, 65,000 videos, 46,000 books) and make digital learning more discoverable and relevant. The L&D team’s challenge was to drive continuous development by improving access, targeting resources to individuals, and promoting curated learning opportunities.
Skillsoft consultants mapped content to BG’s leadership frameworks and used Skillport to deliver curated learning plans and personalized recommendations, fully integrating single‑click access across devices. An integrated campaign of videos, events and emails — plus use of the Jive collaboration platform for sharing — increased engagement: digital learning usage rose more than 300%, direct Skillport logins jumped 100%, and Jive access proved highly popular.
