How Skillcast Helped Tesco Feed the Nation

Tesco, a major UK multinational retailer, faced the immense challenge of quickly onboarding over 45,000 temporary staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal was to safely and legally feed the nation, which required providing new hires with immediate access to essential training and streamlining their induction process. They turned to their vendor, Skillcast, and its Learning Management System (LMS) to address this urgent need.

Skillcast responded by rapidly modifying the LMS to enable secure access for the temporary staff. Working side-by-side with Tesco, Skillcast helped design, develop, and deliver new, bespoke learning curriculums in just two weeks. This solution led to a massive increase in training activity, with user access to the LMS growing by 99% and over 800,000 learning sessions delivered in a single month, allowing the new recruits to quickly become effective in their roles.
