A Skild Case Study
The Colorado Innovation Network (COIN), with Governor John Hickenlooper, sought to foster economic growth by supporting small business innovators in the state. They launched a challenge, powered by Skild, to find and fund the most promising entrepreneurs who had learned from past failures. The challenge targeted Colorado-based small businesses with less than $1 million in annual revenue, inviting them to compete for cash and prizes.
Using its platform, Skild managed the competition process, which culminated in finalists presenting at the annual COIN Summit. The winner was Rachio, which developed the Iro smart irrigation system. This Skild-facilitated victory provided Rachio with approximately $100,000 to accelerate their business. The Iro system helps homeowners save up to $149 and nearly 17,000 gallons of water per month, achieving the challenge's goals of promoting innovation and resource conservation.
